As we enter the new year, we want to provide updates to ensure you are fully informed about changes to our cash rates and how to navigate your insurance options effectively. At SANA Psychiatry, we are committed to offering high-quality care while maintaining transparency about costs.
Insurance Options at SANA Psychiatry
We are proud to accept most major insurances, making mental health care accessible to as many people as possible. In addition, we are excited to share that we have recently added Carelon Insurance to our network and are actively working toward accepting Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri in early 2025.
Navigating Insurance in the New Year
The beginning of the year is an excellent time to review your insurance plan, especially if your employer has made changes or if you’ve switched plans during open enrollment.
If you have a high-deductible health plan (HDHP), you might find that paying out-of-pocket (our cash rate) is more affordable than using your insurance, particularly before you meet your deductible.
New Cash Rate for Follow-Up Visits
Starting January 1, 2025, our cash rate for follow-up visits will increase to $185. This adjustment reflects the rising costs of providing exceptional mental health services and allows us to continue offering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Why Cash Rates May Be More Affordable
Insurance-negotiated rates for services can sometimes be higher than our cash rates, depending on your plan. Paying out-of-pocket could save you money if:
You are still meeting your deductible.
Your insurance plan has a high co-pay or coinsurance rate.
You prefer not to submit claims to your insurance.
We want you to have the flexibility to choose the payment method that works best for you. You can request to pay our cash rate even if you have insurance.
What You Can Do
Review Your Insurance Plan: Take a close look at your deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, and co-pay or coinsurance rates to understand your potential costs for care in 2025.
Compare Costs: Reach out to our office to discuss whether paying our cash rate might be more cost-effective than billing through insurance.
Ask Questions: Our team is happy to guide you through understanding your options.
