She worked at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute, a renowned mental health facility specializing in multiple anxiety spectrum disorders. She was the medical director prior to leaving to start SANA Psychiatry. She is very excited to be able to interact with patients in a more personalized setting.

She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and bipolar disease. She is able to treat substance abuse issues as well.

She is currently able to meet you in person for evaluation in Richmond Heights, Missouri on Wednesdays or Thursdays and see you via telehealth in the comfort of your own space. Please be aware that some medications require at least one in person visit prior to being prescribed.
What kinds of patients are suited for your practice?
SANA Psychiatry is a very small practice that relies heavily on technology. As a result, patients will need to have an e-mail on file so that we can communicate effectively. While we do reach out with phone calls, the best way to contact us is through the patient portal. If a patient feels that this is not something that they feel comfortable doing, this practice may not suit their needs.

We do not have a in person front desk staff so any needs will likely be met through e-mail, phone call or patient portal. It is highly imperative that the patient is comfortable with completing forms online as well as emailing to be a good fit for this practice.
Do you accept insurance?
We are happy to announce that we do currently accept insurance. While we do not accept all insurances, we do accept most of the Aetna plans (excluding Aetna CVS Health), Cigna and UHC/UMR. We do not currently accept Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, WellFirst, Medicare or Medicaid. To check if your insurance works for our practice, you may check here:

How Can You Help Me with Insurance Reimbursement?
For those who will want to be seen without insurance coverage, you can submit for out of network benefits. Superbills are receipts for services you get from an out-of-network provider. You can submit an official receipt of your qualified expenses to your health insurance company for reimbursement and they’ll determine how much, if any, the money you’re entitled to. It is important to check with your insurance company if this is a possibility.

Superbills will be emailed to you after appointments to ensure you can submit these in a timely manner., typically by HelloAlma at the end of the month.
Why do you have to see me in person?
The US Government requires an in-person visit prior to prescribing certain controlled medications to patients in a telehealth setting. During COVID, the government waived this requirement in order to allow people to continue to receive treatment. The Federal Government has stated that the public health emergency declared during the COVID-19 Pandemic will be ending on May 11th, 2023 and at that time, the previous requirement will be re-instated immediately

While it is not a requirement, it is highly recommended that you come in person so that we can use any medications that we deem necessary to treat you

These medications include Class 2 Medications (typically medications for ADHD like Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta, Vyvanse etc.) or Class 4 Medications (typically Xanax, Klonopin or Xanax)
